More food than incense

I smell a lot more pumpkin spice latte than smoky incense. I keep trying it, thinking I'll get something different out of it, but I just keep smelling nutmeg and vanilla. It has great staying power, and I would love it in a candle, but for a perfume it smells too much like food.
