As a surfer and Founder of a nature-inspired company, I feel a deep connection to the ocean.  As an activist and mom with kids that surf and play in the ocean every day, the issue of clean water is very personal to me.  All of my life I have been captivated by the mysterious beauty of the ocean.  As a child, growing up in Montana, I watched with wonder the magical images of Jacques Cousteau plumbing the depths and the amazing creatures he discovered there.  For all of these reasons, you could say that I am absolutely starry-eyed about Pacifica’s new partnership with Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society.
 
Founded and run by Jacques Cousteau’s son, this awesome organization works to explore our global ocean, inspiring and educating people (especially young people) to act responsibly for its protection.  Billy and I believe whole heartedly in this mission and are so proud to be donating a portion of proceeds from all sales of Island Vanilla products to Ocean Futures and to be helping to raise awareness of this organization’s critical work.  I love that Jean-Michel believes that kids hold the ocean’s future in their hands but also know that we all must act to ensure the seas are healthy and full of life for generations to come.  Please check out the Ocean Futures Society website at oceanfutures.org and join us in supporting them.
