Layering Scents (part two) in the Winter

//

Dry skin does not hold fragrance as well as moisturized skin.  Oils on your skin tend to be a place that holds scent.  When your skin is void of any oil, you will notice that your scent does not last as long.  This becomes even more important when you are dealing with scents that contain a lot of natural materials.

Tubes of Fragranced Body ButtersSo in the winter, I like to layer scents over body butter.  This goes for whether or not I use the same scent, or if I am layering scents.

I addressed layering scents back in April.  But now that it is winter, I think it is time for a refresher on this subject.

Pacifica scents are perfect for layering.  Here is a post about how to layer using different fragrances.

In the winter, use a body butter as your base instead of a spray perfume.  Then layer your perfume over the body butter.  It will make both scents last longer.

And lastly, in case you don't know, Sephora has a brand new scent from us:  Indian Coconut Nectar.  It is really gorgeous.  It is also a perfect scent to blend with.  Check it out!

I tried California Star Jasmine body butter with Indian Coconut Nectar perfume. Fantastic!

Just discovered another great combination- Indian Coconut Nectar body butter as a base for Vanilla vera cruz and Orange nerola blossom perfume sprays! My co- workers keep asking, "who smells so good?"

What a brilliant idea using body butter to blend. Normally my 11year old daughter hogs the body butter because it is the only thing that works on her extremely dry/ecsema prone skin. This morning I stole some of her Indian Coconut Nectar body butter and paired it with my Bali Lime Papaya perfume spray- WOW! It was divine! Now I am driven to experiment some more!

Thanks Brooke! I really like the idea of using the body butter to layer! I have been experimenting primarily with the perfume sprays but using the body butters in the winter months (especially for me as I live in the Northeast) is a great way to both moisturize and create a unique scent! I also agree that the Indian Coconut Nectar makes a great base for any Pacifica fragrance. Pacifica fans should really try it!
